Services
The Office of Research Services (ORS) and the Office of Proposal Development (OPD) provide institutional
approval for all extramural proposal submissions, accept grants, sign contracts on behalf of the University, and provide
administrative support to the IRB, IACUC, and other compliance committees. We also provide a wide range of services to support
the development of extramural proposals for research and creative activity and to assist faculty in the management of projects:

- Shared instrumentation resources in the UNC system

Proposal Development Workshops and Seminars:
- OPD sponsors funding agency seminars and proposal writing workshops
Proposal Team Support:
- OPD can be a resource to multi-disciplinary proposal writing teams
Proposal Mailing:
- ORS will get your proposal where it needs to go, on time and at no cost to you. UPS picks up outgoing shipments in ORS daily
Faculty Travel to Funding Sources:
- In cases where a well developed project idea would be significantly enhanced by a face-to-face meeting with a program officer,
OPD will share the cost of travel with the department or school
Project Management:
- The Vice Chancellor can provide direct administrative support for large projects
